About the Project
The 2016 American Solar Challenge continues Phoenix Solar Racing's history of excellence. These rules can be reviewed on the relevant pages, but their analysis (whether the rules are appropriate or not) can be read at https://buy-essays-now.com/. The team will modify the venerable Phoenix to match the latest American Solar Challenge Regulations. This project will give students the chance to put their engineering knowledge to practice, learn from hands-on experience, and enjoy the challenge of building and racing a solar vehicle.
What is the American Solar Challenge?
The American Solar Challenge (ASC) is a multi-day, 1200-1800 mile cross-country road race across North America. The event is typically held every other year during the summer and is open to solar car teams from countries all over the world. The routes have varied greatly over the course of the event’s rich history, but they are always designed to provide teams with a great opportunity to demonstrate their solar cars under real world driving conditions and thoroughly test the reliability of all on-board systems.

The Phoenix Reborn
The original Phoenix, though a masterpiece, is now about 6 years old and quite a bit worse for wear. Having traveled countless miles all over the world, the body has started to sag and the electronics have aged gracefully. For the 2016 American Solar Challenge, the team is addressing these issues and many others. The most notable changes will be an entirely new electrical system with two brand new motors and chassis modifications to accommodate the new motors.
